11.26 Zhi Wu – Control Dirt- Master’s Tung’s Acupuncture Point
Beside needling acupuncture points, master Tung has a variety of points and zones that are used for bloodletting. These points are distributed on the trunk, back, upper and lower extremities. Zhi Wu 11.26 can be bled or needled.
制污 zhi wu 11.26
The meaning of Wu 污 is turbid, reflecting the indications of this point treating turbid toxic situations inside the body. When the body is deficient, qi is not transforming fluids and blood is not nourishing the tissues properly. This can influence and delay wound or ulcer healing. As this point deals with discharge, it can also be useful for gynecological inflammation, menstruation or vaginal discharge issues.
A three point area on the middle line of the proximal phalange of the first finger. I have bled two points out of all three points in the picture presented below. Sometimes a small capillary can be seen and few drops can be bled out.
Indication: water in the ear, chronic abscesses or ulcers, non healing wounds, all kinds of herpeses, all due to damp/ phlegm with or without heat congestion.
The Su Wen chapter 5 say: 阳化气,阴成形 ” Yang is in charge of transforming energy, yin is in charge of forming the shape”
( Translation by Henry C. Lu)
Non healing wound, is a symbol to excess Yin and deficient Yang who can not drain and transform turbidity. Zheng qi and other nutrients doesn’t reach the wound therefore it doesn’t heal.
11.26 (Zhi Wu) can be used after surgery for non healing scars or wounds, ear infection or inflammation and swollen knee.
It is also very useful for gynecological problems: one of the frequent reasons to use this point with Fu Ke 11.24 is postponed menstruation. Excessive vaginal discharge, vaginitis and even acne are also indicative to use 11.26.
Major combinations:
- Add 11.25 (Zhi xian), for any lower Jiao inflammation, hernia, herpes zoster, acne or ulcers.
- Add San Cha Yi (A.01) to address the lower abdomen and groin. San Cha yi (A.01) is between the second and third finger, between the large intestine and pericardium meridian. Therefore it can influence liver meridian and regulate menstruation and bleeding.

Thanks for the video. Really appricate it. Blood letting is super facinating, and most references to it are through Tungs acupuncture.
Great video.
Thank you! I find it useful in many cases of discharge, bleeding and pus! I bleed it in heat or damp heat cases, but it can work by needling especially in Tai yin deficiency persons.
Happy you found it useful.
