Master Tung’s Acupuncture 77.22 【侧三里】(Ce san li)+77.23 【侧下三里】(Ce xia san li)

These points are located between the leg Yang ming stomach and leg Shao yang gall bladder channels. Their name is related to the location near St 36 (Zu san li).

Location: 77.22 (Ce San li) is located 1.5 cun lateral to St 36. 77.23 (Ce xia san li) is located 2 cun inferior to 77.23.

Needing: 1-1.5 cun.

Reaction area: Heart, Lung.

Main functions: Invigorate the blood, dispel blood stasis, stop pain.

Indications:

1. Since the name include the word “Ce”侧, it treats the side of our body: shoulder pain, trigeminal neuralgia, intercostal nerve pain, hypochondriac pain, gall bladder inflammation, appendicitis.
2. If we image the head of the tibia to our head, 77.22+ 77.23 will be right on the lateral side of the head. Therefore these point can treat migraine, tooth pain, swelling below the tongue, goiter.

Major combinations:

1. For tooth pain add: 22.04 (Da bai)+ 22.05 (Ling gu)+ San Jian (Three shoulder points)
2. For ear inflammation or parotid gland pain add: 77-05 (Three weights), 88.17+ 88.18+ 88.19 (Si ma) on the opposite side of the pain+ 22.17 (San cha san -A.04) on the same side of the pain.
