Si hua (Four flowers) Dao ma 77-02: 77.08+ 77.09+ 77.11

The four flowers Dao ma (77-02) is located on the Yang Ming – Stomach meridian. It is a three point set. This combination can be used in many kinds of symptoms including gastrointestinal disorders, chest and lung diseases and head or orifices manifestations.

77.09 Si Hua Zhong 【四花中】

Location:

4.5 cun below 77.08 (Si hua shang).

Needling:  For eye disease and asthma puncture 2-3 cun. Bleed the area for acute conditions such as heart disease, chest oppression, lung inflammation, gastritis, intestinal inflammation.

Reaction area: Heart, lung, stomach.

Main functions:

Course the heart, clear the lung, attune the spleen and stomach.

Indications:

1. Asthma, lung cancer, lung emphysema, pneumonia, heart disease (endocarditis, angina pectoris, heart attack, cardiovascular disease), chest oppression or suffocation and discomfort.
2. Eyes diseases (pain and inflammation, cataract, exophthalmos).
3. Stomachache, stomach or inflammatory bowel diseases.
4. Swelling of the bones, Frozen shoulder, elbow pain, index finger pain.

77.11 Si Hua Xia 【四花下】

Location:

5 cun below 77.09 (Si hua zhong).

Needling: 0.5- 1 cun. This point can be bled.

Main functions: rectify the spleen, harmonize the stomach.

Indications:

1. Bowel inflammation, abdominal bloating.
2. Lower limb edema, TMJ pain.

Comments on 77.17+ 77.19+ 77.21 Si hua points

Master Tung’s four flowers are located on the stomach meridian, they support the qi and blood of the whole body. They regulate the middle jiao (spleen- stomach) and support the post heaven qi.  I think of them when ever I found a deep, soft or weak pulse. Since they support the middle jiao, they can improve and treat also the upper jiao: lung and heart.

Four flowers Dao ma (Si hua Shang+ Si hua zhong+ Si hua xia) is arranged from top to bottom, just like a holographic projection of a human organ.

• The knee as the head- 77.08 can treat the upper Jiao (heart and lung).
• The middle point 77.09 can govern the middle Jiao (spleen and stomach).
• The lower point 77.11 governs the lower Jiao (the intestine and lower abdomen).

This Dao ma can treat the whole three burners, open the five zang organs and attune the whole body.

The indications can be divided into three Jiaos:

Upper jiao:

A. lung and heart symptoms- asthma, cough, chest oppression, cardiovascular diseases.

B. Head and orifices symptoms- headache, TMJ, toothache, eyes disorders or inflammation. The stomach and large intestine channels travel to the face and head, this can explain why 77.08+ 77.09+ 77.11 can treat these symptoms.

Middle and lower Jiao: spleen and stomach disorders- bloating, IBS, colitis, diarrhea, constipation.

Major combinations:

1. For diarrhea add 22.11 (Tu shui)+ 66.05 (Men jin)+ 88.09 (Tong shen)+ 88.10 (Tong wei).
2. For mastitis add three weighs 77.05+ 77.06+ 77.07, 22.01 (Chong zi) 22.02 (Chong xian).
3. For infertility add 77.17+ 77.19+ 77.21 (3 emperors), 11.24 (fu ke), 88.04+ 88.05 +88.06 (Jie mei).
4. For cardiac disorders, palpitations, arrhythmia, bleed four flowers points and the upper back on the heart and lung area. Add 33.17 (Xin ling).
